Botox / Dysport

Wrinkles are a natural part of the aging process. With repetitive facial expressions and movements, in addition to external factors such as sun damage, the lines/creases in the face become more noticeable. To slow down this process and help smooth out those lines of the face, neuromodulators have paved the way for a more youthful appearance.

How does it work?

Neuromodulators such as Botox/Dysport block nerve signals in the muscle which prevent the muscle from contracting. By strategically weakening the muscles, neuromodulators prevent new creasing as well as reduce previous creasing for a smoother outcome of the face.

Botox vs Dysport

Although both Botox and Dysport are made of botulinum A, they have slight variations of formula, using different proteins (onabotulinumtoxinA (Botox), abobotulinumtoxinA (Dysport)). Dysport has a wider spread compared to Botox and will kick in faster compared to Botox due to its smaller particle size. Dysport is approved by the FDA to treat glabellar lines. Botox is approved by the FDA to treat glabellar lines, forehead lines and crow’s feet.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

After a thorough examination with our aesthetic providers, a treatment plan with appropriate dosing will be created to address patients’ concern areas. Injections are generally well-tolerated using ice and/or numbing cream. The treatment itself takes about a few minutes. Minor skin irritation, redness, bruising, or swelling may occur post-procedure. We recommend avoiding exercising for 24 hours, keeping your head elevated for 3-4 hours post procedure, and avoiding any facials for 1-2 weeks.

When do I see results?

Effects may take place in as little as 1-2 days but will need a full 7-14 days for maximum effect. Results can last 3+ months depending on each patient’s metabolism. Treatments may be repeated every 3-4 months to maintain the effects of a smoother and softer appearance. There is little to no downtime after treatment and patients are able to resume their day to day activities afterwards.

This place is absolutely amazing!
